From the small beginnings in Japan in 1949, ASICS has grown into one of the world’s major sporting goods manufacturers. Over the years, with some of the industry’s most advanced research facilities, a diversified manufacturing base and a network of operations that spans the US, Australia, Asia and Europe, ASICS has developed into a globally oriented company.

Today, ASICS has established itself as the technological leader in the business offering a wide range of high-quality footwear, apparel and equipment for various kinds of sport. In addition, ASICS’ sub-brand Onitsuka Tiger revives the company’s legendary Japanese heritage featuring both casual sports shoes and fashionable apparel for leisure wear. More than 4,000 employees worldwide continuously work on ASICS’ commitment to manufacture simply the best sportswear imaginable. In the fiscal year 2006 (April 2006 to March 2007), ASICS recorded a total turnover of about US $ 1.65 billion, of which US $ 690 million was earned in Japan, US $ 366 million in the United States, US $ 521 million in Europe and US $ 71 million in other regions.

ASICS is the fifth largest sports brand worldwide and the leading brand in the European functional running shoe segment (source: NPD Sports Tracking Europe). In Europe, ASICS is represented by its subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy (including Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria), Spain, Austria (including Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovak Republic), Great Britain and Benelux. In many other European countries ASICS is represented by local distributors: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland (including the Baltic States), Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Poland.

Located in the Netherlands, ASICS Europe B.V. serves as the head of the European organisation as well as representing the Middle East and Africa.
